I needed to go buy fabric today! There are 4 quilt shops within a 15 mile drive, but one of them has a wonderful selection of Civil War reproduction fabrics. And Tuesday is Fat Quarter sale day. I'm still planning to do some Dear Jane blocks and see if I have the desire and drive to actually make the whole thing. Unfortunately, they didn't have the background fabric I wanted, so I really can't start it yet. I'll order it and it will be here by the time I come home from the beach. Anyway, this is my selection for the starter blocks.
I made the first block for the second row of the DWR quilt. I know, that's not very far, but it's farther than the first row.
So, I haven't done much actual sewing today, but plan to spend what's left of the evening working on my Summer Mini.

To which beach are you going for your vacation? I hope you have a wonderful time!
We're going to North Myrtle. I'm looking forward to having the whole familly together for 7 days.
I always enjoy seeing the folks I used to work with. I don't miss going to work but I do miss the people. Have a good time at the beach.
I agree with how much fun it is to get together with "old" work friends. I always feel so much better about retirement when I do!!!
Hope you have a great vacation.
lovely fabric choices. I don't have the courage to start the Dear Jane quilt. Nor do I think I'm a good enough quilter to do it (I don't paper-piece) Best of luck with it. :)
I love Civil War fabrics, what is DWR sorry i know i being thick.
I am sort of doing a DJ but not that smaller block it just using the blocks from that program but made them 9.5 (9 finished) don't think i could do the small blocks so i admire you for attempting to do it
Hugs Janice
The "DWR" quilt I referred to is the Double Wedding Ring. That's my main project right now, and my progress is very slow.
all those shops within 15 miles of you, I'm "sew" jealous.
