Quilting Friday

I was able to spend a good bit of the morning sewing, but I have nothing to show for it. I need to make a block for my August swap buddy, but the block was harder than I expected and turned out sooo bad that I threw it away. I don't often do that; usually I can salvage them somehow, but not this one. Oh well, I have plenty of time and plenty of fabric. I'll try again tomorrow.

Took my grandson to the movie, and while I usually enjoy the movies we see together, I could hardly stand this one. I won't say the name, but if a sequel comes along, I'll know better than to see it. All in all, though, I love the time I get to spend with him. We have a good time. He's ten years old now, so it won't be long until it's not cool to spend time with Grandma.

I've also been trying to finish my quilt for the Summer Mini Quilt Swap at the Quilting Gallery. I'll give you a just a peek and will post a full picture of it after I've sent it to my partner. I certainly need to finish it before I get too deeply into the Christmas project, but as you can see, it's still definitely under construction. Sorry for the strange look to the picture; I cropped it to show only a little bit, and this is what happened.

Sorry about the bad movie experience. Since I'll be watching two of the grands for several days soon and movie may be on the agenda, I'd love to know which one you didn't like. Heck...this is YOUR blog and you're entitled to your opinion....so I don't see anything wrong with telling us. (If you'd rather not post it here, though, would you consider contacting me via an email reply to this and letting me know? I'd hate to spend money for two kids and myself ...and maybe hubby...and have it be a real waste of time.)

I love the sunflower quilt that is being made.

Sorry that the movie wasn't up to par. Did your grandson feel the same way?

Lots of action, so he loved it. The theater was so colde though, that even he was anxious to leave.
