Sewing Sunday

I was able to spend hours sewing today, and got a lot done on the Disappearing 9 Patch quilt.  I don't have enough blocks yet, but hopefully I'll have time tomorrow to finish them up.  I'm going to use white sashing, and I have plenty of that, so as soon as I have enough blocks made, I can give you a peek of what the top will look like.

I'm almost ashamed to admit it, but I've started a new project.  I've been reading about and looking at pictures of the Dear Jane quilt.  Last night I dove in and made my first block.  I've wanted a hand piecing project, and since each block is so small, it may actually be easiser to do them that way. So this is my first one, but the last for awhile as I have some swap obligations coming due and I'm not ready for them.  This picture looks huge, but of course, the block is only about 4 1/2" square.  I'm using Civil War reproduction fabrics as that was the time period of the original quilt.

I am doing a DJ but am cheating as me & a friend are doing the 9.5(9" finished) we are both doing 18 blocks but 2 of each we keep one set of 18 the other set goes to the other so we have 36 blocks in all, much better than doing the small ones lol i may give them a try one day.
I admire anyone who wishes to do the blocks that small it take a life time to do a full size quilt using that smaller block so best of luck.
The block is looking nice as well
